The St Albans Saints are on the verge of an NPL birth following their 0-2 victory against Bendigo City FC at Epsom Huntly Reserve on Saturday evening.
The pressure was on coach Kruni Razov’s men whom were in need of another victory ahead of their final clash against the Whittlesea Ranges.
Nick Sarbin was welcomed back into the starting line-up with the emphasis on controlling all areas of play.
It didn’t take long for the visitors to assert their dominance with Joseph Monek striking an early shot into the side netting.
The hosts could not find any rhythm in their movements and play and were defending en masse.
After numerous opportunities on goal, it was Captain Ryan McGuffie whom headed home the breakthrough to put the visitors in the lead.
Dinamo continued to dominate the proceedings in the second term with the hosts attempting to cease their attacking momentum.
However the saints continued to move forward with pace and vigour and it was midfielder Michael Grgic whom doubled his side’s lead with a powerful strike past the reach of the opposition goalkeeper.
Bendigo struggled to find any attacking momentum and could not muster any goal scoring chances, with the two goals enough to see Dinamo notch another important win.
The saints have all to play for on Saturday in their final fixture against Whittlesea at Churchill Reserve with the hope of promotion ever present.
